Where there are books, there is life! As we have heard over a gazillion times, books are our best friends. They let us live different lives through a character, give us the knowledge that can just never be obtained from any other source, never judge us for liking any kind of genre and most importantly you can never be alone if you have a book with you. As rightly said by Stephen King, “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” So here is a list of 5 amazing places in Delhi that every book lover needs to add to their bucket list ASAP!
- KITAB BAZAAR, DARYAGANJ
If you are a true bibliophile living in Delhi, you most probably already know about this heavenly place also known as the Sunday book market in Delhi near the Chawri Bazar metro station. It has millions of books, either stacked neatly or strewn all over with every possible genre available with all sorts of price ranges available. From rock-bottom prices to a little high penguin-level price range.
2. CHA BAR, CONNAUGHT PLACE
One of the most popular book café in Delhi. It is a part of the oxford bookstore. With an amazing interior and over 100 types of tea that it offers, it is definitely a great place where you can even take a book from your own collection and read and also have some good food along with some cha.
3. SPELL AND BOUND BOOKSHOP AND CAFÉ, HAUZ KHAS
This place has a very comfortable and cosy vibe to it. Apart from a big collection of books in the basement and ground floor, it also has a café on the first floor that serves coffee, milkshake and Kathi kebabs! It most definitely is a good place to read one of your favourite books and have a cup of refreshing coffee.
4. IVY AND BEAN, SHAHPUR JAT
Now this is a very special place, located in Shahpur Jat, with a very pretty interior in WHITE and lemon yellow walls. The perfect place to pick up a book and get lost in it. Another very special thing about it is that it offers Australian cuisine, which is such a big plus as we do not have many places in Delhi that offer it. If there is one place that you need to visit as soon as possible, then it has to be Ivy and Bean!
5. CAFÉ TURTLE (full circle bookstore), GREATER KAILASH
Bunking college/work with a friend? Café Turtle is your place! Pick up a good book, a coffee, a sandwich and start a conversation that becomes just never ending with this lovely place with the perfect lighting. It is one of the oldest café’s in Delhi and has a lot to offer!
With the amazing technology that has become such an inseparable part of our lives, many of us prefer reading books online! AMA CAFÉ in Majnu ka Tila is one place you really need to visit. With a great ambience and a getaway in itself, it also provides free wi-fi!
We also have another bonus point for the people who enjoy reading old and used books.
