Weddings in India are known for their lavishness, grandeur and magnificence. Marriages are a significant part of Indian culture and the way it is organised varies from state to state and from region to region. Recently, a new dimension is added in this splendid Indian tradition in the form of destination weddings. Instead of organising marriages in their respective hometowns, people have begun choosing serene and attractive destinations for carrying out their wedding ceremony. However, destination weddings in India are largely confined to upper class or upper middle class given the fact that these weddings are generally organised in exotic locations like royal palaces of Rajasthan or the extravagant and gigantic beaches on the western coast.

Nevertheless, apart from these expensive locations, here is a list of 5 reasonable and affordable places across country perfect for organising destination wedding.


1. Madhya Pradesh

This state with a rich cultural heritage offers a variety of locations that are not very popular but appropriate for destination weddings. Mandu and Pachmarhi are two places in Madhya Pradesh that are ideal for celebrating the most special day of your life.

  • Mandu or Mandavgad

It is a ruined city in the Dhar district in the Malwa region of western Madhya Pradesh state, central India. Set amidst Satpura mountains this place has a number of exquisite palaces, ornamental baths and pavilions to lure your guests into its old-world romantic charm.




  • Pachmarhi

It is the bowl-shaped mount resort in Madhya Pradesh is frequently called as the sovereign of Satpura ranges. Located at an elevation of 1,067 feet, Pachmarhi presents an assortment of magnetism ranging from antique fissures to striking memorials.
